The ex-investigator having been responsible for the Hagyó-case currently earns a million forints a month at the BKV.

A new name can be put on the list of the winners of the BKV-case: it has turned out that the then investigator responsible for the Hagyó-case earns millions as the deputy project director of the DBR Projekt Metró Board.

It has been reported several times that policemen, lawyers, prosecutors and judges acting according to the political interest have been all rewarded for their readiness – despite the fact that it was proved in many of the cases that they had made “professional mistakes”.

Zsolt Nagy finished his studies in economic protection studies at the Police Academy. Then he took part in the investigation of the Hagyó-case with highly questionable professionalism. The article published in the Népszabadság suggests that his assignment to the position with a monthly salary of around a million forints was hardly accidental. We cannot make sure if it is true, however it is for sure that Zsolt Nagy’s name is on the list – and the list is quite long containing names of persons holding key positions.

Who else has gained benefit of the BKV-case?

Görgy Pető conducting the investigation was assigned leading positions at both the FKF and FBI. Ottó Halász conducting Hagyó’s interrogation became the deputy director of the security board of FKF. Gábor Tóth is currently the supervisor of a public security working group at the Municipality of Budapest, where he can work together with more of his ex colleagues and other police higher-ups. Iván Szabó was awarded with the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, Officer’s Cross, while Imre Keresztes was awarded with the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, Commander’s Cross. Katalin Vámos Dr. Szabadváriné became one of Istvan Tarlós’s chief advisors with a competitive monthly salary and additional bonuses. Mária Szívós presently thrives as constitutional court judge.

Currently in his position Zsolt Nagy as an expert in corporate security is primarily responsible for granting authorisations, furthermore he provides a direct service in the “national economic interests” with special focus on the most effective drawdown of EU funds. He does all of these for 1.1 million forints a month. His efforts are also rewarded with a premium of 40% moreover a mobile phone and a Skoda Octavia to his own use were also made available for him.
